Dokken, Ratt, Warrant Prepare To 'Rock'

Comments

With Tesla and Poison already anchoring a pair of summer tours, fans of '80s hair metal will now have yet another package to choose from. Dokken, Ratt, Warrant, Firehouse and L.A. Guns will bottle their amusement ride anthems for Rock Fest, which launches June 20 in Fargo, N.D., and wraps about a month later in Clarkston, Mich.

Despite the fact that Dokken recently released the Sanctuary album "Long Way Home," and Firehouse issued the Spitfire set "O2" earlier this year, the tour makes no attempt at appearing as a showcase for new material. It's no surprise, since none of the Rock Fest bands have reached the Billboard charts in recent years, and promoters are already hyping greatest hits performances from each act on the bill. Tour updates will be posted on the Rock Fest Web site.

Those seeking more '80s nostalgia can check out the Rock Never Stops tour, featuring Tesla, Motley Crue's Vince Neil, Jackyl, and Skid Row, which, as previously reported, began this week. Additionally, the Scorpions are bringing Dio and Deep Purple along for an outdoor jaunt, and Poison has a massive summer outing planned in support of "Hollyweird" (Cyanide Music), released yesterday. The latest details are available on Poison's official Web site.
