Diverse Artists On Board AIDS Benefit Bill

Cassandra Wilson, Stephanie Mills, and Rahsaan Patterson are among the artists who will participate in You Rock My Soul, a benefit concert for the Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC). As previously reported, acclaimed artist Meshell Ndegeocello is serving as musical director for the show, which will take place Nov. 11 at New York's famed Carnegie Hall.

Also confirmed to appear are Bilal and Yerba Buena featuring Andre Levin.

"You Rock My Soul will be unlike anything to hit Carnegie Hall before," Ndegeocello said in a statement. "The musical journey will take you from gospel to Afrobeat, jazz to rock, hip-hop to funk all in one night with incredible guest artists joined by my band.

"I think bringing diverse musical styles together is appropriate because we are trying to unite diverse people and cultures against the HIV/AIDS pandemic," she added. "While I hope the show we've put together inspires and entertains, the greater goal is to give folks a spiritual lift in this long battle ahead of us."

Tickets ranging from $50 to $250 are available via the Carnegie Hall box office at 212-247-7800. Benefit tickets that include access to a post-concert reception with a performance by Tony Award-winning artist Heather Headley are available directly from the GMHC at 212-367-1472 or the organization's Web site.
