Disturbed Leads Music As A Weapon Tour

Chicago hard rock outfit Disturbed will headline a fall package tour called Music as a Weapon with fellow Ozzfest 2001 alums Drowning Pool and Systematic as well as young, aggressive newcomers Adema and Stereomud. The trek is slated to kick off Sept. 22 in Denver. Dates are set through Oct. 30, with more shows expected to be announced soon.

Beforehand, Disturbed will headline Boston's Locobazooka Festival Sept. 16, on a bill that includes Kittie, Nonpoint, and Rollins Band. The group also has two radio station concerts in Florida scheduled for late October apart from the Music as a Weapon dates.

Disturbed will be out in support of its Reprise debut, "The Sickness," which was released in March 2000, and peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard 200 last October. The album has since been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for U.S. shipments of 1 million copies. The single "Down With the Sickness" is currently at No. 6 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

All four of the group's tourmates released debut albums this year. Drowning Pool's "Sinner" sits at No. 14 on The Billboard 200 for the second straight week. Stereomud's "Perfect Self" and Systematic's "Somewhere in Between" debuted side-by-side on the chart in June (No. 142 and No. 143 respectively), while Adema's eponymous Arista debut was just released last Tuesday.
