Dion To Preview New Set With TV Special

Celine Dion's first English-language studio album since 1997's "Let's Talk About Love" will be previewed a week before its release during with a one-hour network television musical special, Billboard Bulletin reports. The album "A New Day Has Come" is set for worldwide release March 11 on Epic, and will contain songs produced by David Foster, Robert "Mutt" Lange, Christopher Neil, Humberto Gatica, Walter Afanasieff, and Ric Wake, among others.

The first single, which will be released to radio in late January, is slated to be the title cut, a ballad written by Aldo Nova and Stephan Moccio and produced by Afanasieff. "I hope this album will be soothing, a little shoulder to lean on," Dion tells Bulletin.

"A New Day Has Come" will be a precursor to Dion's three-year, 600-show engagement at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, to debut in March 2003. She will perform in a theatrical presentation directed by Franco Dragone (Cirque du Soleil) at a 4,000-seat venue designed like the Roman Coliseum and built especially for her show.

Billboard will publish the first interview in two years with Dion in the Jan. 26, 2002, issue.
