Deadmau5, the Canadian electronic/dance music producer who received as many Grammy 2012 nominations as fellow Canadian Drake, will be performing on the 2012 Juno Awards, television broadcaster CTV and The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) has announced.

CARAS, which trickles out a steady stream of press announcements in the months leading up to Canada's biggest music awards show, includes the artist who famously wears giant mouse ears in the "first round" of acts scheduled to perform on the April 1 show from Scotiabank Place in Ottawa.

Also confirmed are Blue Rodeo, which have been named as the 2012 Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees; City and Colour, the melodic soft-rock band of former Alexisonfire singer Dallas Green, and indie-pop innovator Feist.

"Coming off of the most-watched Juno Awards broadcast on record, we are excited to continue to bring the nation the biggest and most spectacular night of Canadian music all year," said Phil King, president CTV programming and sports in a statement. "The already diverse line-up announced today is just the beginning of what we have in store for this year's broadcast."

"To be able to offer Canadian music fans the best of many musical genres all on one stage demonstrates the diversity of the JUNO Awards and how far we've come in recognizing 41 categories," added CARAS president/CEO Melanie Berry. "This first group of performers are among the most exciting and coveted artists in the world, and it only makes sense that they be a part of Canada's greatest night in music."

Additional performer announcements will be released in the coming months.

The 2012 Juno Awards broadcast is produced by Insight Productions in association with CTV and The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS).
