With more than 40 years of music making and more than 60 million records sold, Daryl Hall and John Oates are one of the most succesful and enduring pop duos of all time. "We always envisioned doing this for a long time," Oates says. "It was something that was part of our lives."

Now, for the first time in their careers, the works of Hall and Oates have been compiled into a massive four-disc retrospective, "Do What You Want, Be What You Are: The Music Of Daryl Hall And John Oates." The career retrospective includes all of their Billboard chart hits - including 6 No. 1 singles - as well as favorite album tracks, live versions, and 16 previously unreleased tracks, all handpicked by the musicians themselves.

"You can download this stuff," Hall explained in an interview with Billboard.com. "But what makes this box set worth the trouble...is because of the editing process. Its what we chose, its our edit, its what we think is important."
