Cypress Hill 'Smokes Out' 5th Annual Fest

Comments

Veteran rap act Cypress Hill has scheduled its fifth annual Smoke Out event for Nov. 23 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The notoriously pro-marijuana group will be joined by a long list of fellow hip-hop artists and hard rock acts, including Snoop Dogg, Mudvayne, Kool Keith, Redman, the Circle Jerks, Everlast, and Taproot.

Others slated to appear are Face To Face, Kottonmouth Kings, Pharoahe Monch, Adema, 3rd Strike, 4th Ave. Jones, Aceyalone, DJ Rap, DJ Sneak, Finch, Hemlock, Poison The Well, RX Bandits, SX10, and the Used.

After several successful day-long events, last year Cypress Hill tried to expand Smoke Out, planning stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Holmdel, N.J., and Honolulu. Due to various snags, shows were staged only in Los Angeles and Honolulu. Deftones, Busta Rhymes, Afroman, Pennywise, and Suicidal Tendencies were among the artists who participated.

The Smoke Out is one of three events on Cypress Hill's schedule. Later this week, the group will celebrate Halloween with a show at New York's Roseland Ballroom. On Dec. 7, Cypress Hill will be among 20 bands, including Creed, Everclear, and Our Lady Peace, performing during WPBZ West Palm Beach, Fla.'s the Buzz Bake Sale festival.
