The Counting Crows want everyone to know that critics who have dubbed the band "uncool" are just plain wrong -- and they have the hip-hop collaborations and impact on younger artists to prove it.
"We got to be uncool because someone said we were," frontman Adam Duritz tells Billboard.com. "But bands came along and they were unafraid to say, unabashedly, that we were a huge influence."
In addition to reclaiming their cool points, the Crows are also thriving. The band just wrapped up a tour, entitled the Traveling Circus and Medicine Show, for which it did away with the usual distance that separates headliners from openers and jammed all night with Michael Franti & Spearhead and Augustana.
