Coolio Fishes In TBS' 'Red Water'

Comments

Rapper-turned-actor Coolio will star opposite Lou Diamond Phillips and Kristy Swanson in the TBS Superstation original movie "Red Water." The film is set to premiere Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on the cable channel.

Coolio and actor Jaimz Woolvett will play criminals searching for stolen money lost in a Louisiana river. After hijacking Phillips and Swanson's boat, the group encounters a shark attacking anything in the water.

Even though Coolio, whose past movie credits include "Batman & Robin," "Gangland," and "Daredevil," is working more and more on film and television projects, he has not abandoned his musical career. Late last year he released "El Cool Magnifico" (Riviera), and next week will kick off a six-date tour of New Zealand.

Here are Coolio's upcoming tour dates:

May 17: Rotorua, New Zealand (Rotorua Sportsdrome)
May 18: Hastings, New Zealand (Pettigrew.green Arena)
May 20: Christchurch, New Zealand (Town Hall)
May 21: Wellington, New Zealand (Starlight Ballroom)
May 22: Palmerston North, New Zealand (Manawatu Arena/Stadium)
May 23: Auckland, New Zealand (Auckland Showgrounds)
