Apple CEO Steve Jobs used a performance by Coldplay's Chris Martin and a video of Lady Gaga to help launch new Apple music products during the company's annual media event earlier today (Sept. 1).

After rolling out a new lineup of iPod models, Martin took the stage to perform a new song entitled "Wedding Bells" on piano, as well as Coldplay hits like "Viva La Vida" and "Yellow."

A Lady Gaga video was also used while Jobs unveiled "Ping," a music-centric social network set to be included in iTunes 10. The singer appeared in a pre-taped video from the studio to discuss the new feature.

Jobs also introduced a completely new lineup of iPods, revamping every model it has on the market, in what he called "the strongest lineup of iPods we've ever had."

The Shuffle gets navigation buttons again, as well as voice-activated playlists and Voiceover speech technology that tells you what songs are being played. Meanwhile, the iPod Touch adds many elements previously announced on the iPhone 4, including the high-resolution "Retina" display and a front facing camera to make FaceTime video calls.

The Nano also gets an overhaul, with a full-screen multitouch display, similar to the iPod Touch. All three models will be on retail shelves next week, with pre-orders being accepted today.
