Scotty McCreery's Glitch at World Series; Zooey Deschanel to Sing at Game 4

Last week's Billboard 200 leader, Scotty McCreery, overcame an embarrassing microphone glitch on live television Wednesday night to belt out the National Anthem at the World Series.

It's taken to the seventh and final game, but the World Series is finally ready to rock a little with the national anthem. "American Idol" alum Chris Daughtry will take Star-Spangled Banner duties before Game 7 Friday between the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

10 Worst National Anthem Performances Ever

He was seen at sound check amid a sea of empty red seats in a photo tweeted by the Cardinals organization. A glance at the North Carolina native's own Twitter feed hints that he's a bit of a Cardinals fan.

"I can't believe what I just witnessed!!!" he wrote following the Cardinals' miraculous 11th inning win Thursday in St. Louis. He attended the game.

The Series began with trio of country stars, Scotty McCreery (Game 1), Trace Adkins (2) and Ronnie Dunn (3), before turning to actress-singers Zooey Deschanel (4) and Demi Lovato (5). Acclaimed R&B singer Joe Thomas handled the sixth game.

The Cardinals won Game 6 in dramatic fashion Thursday night, coming from behind to win 10-9 in extra innings.

The band Daughtry releases their third album, "Break the Spell," on Nov. 21. Their previous efforts both topped the Billboard 200 and charted multiple Hot 100 hits, including "Feels Like Tonight" and "Home."
