Chevelle, Crossfade, Helmet Suit Up For SnoCore

Chevelle, Helmet, Crossfade, Future Leaders Of The World and Strata have signed on for the 10th Winterfresh SnoCore tour, Billboard.com has learned. The trek will play 32 North American dates this winter and spring, beginning Jan. 22 in Vail, Colo., and wrapping March 13 Orlando, Fla.

"Originally, we just wanted to go snowboarding and skiing for free, and this was a way to do it," says tour co-founder John Boyle, now an artist manager at Sanctuary. "The first tour was a dozen shows in ski resort towns in the Western U.S. We snowboarded during the day and put on concerts in ski lodges at night. Since that time, the tour has outgrown most resort markets and now routes through mostly major markets in the country, with only a couple of resort stops a year."

Chevelle recently hit No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart with the single "Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)," from its latest Epic album, "This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)." Crossfade's self-titled FG/Columbia debut has spent the majority of the past two months at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart.

Strata played the 2004 edition of SnoCore, which was headlined by Trapt. Past participating acts have included Incubus, System Of A Down and Blink 182.
