Chapman, Switchfoot Head Dove Nominations

Steven Curtis Chapman, Switchfoot, Third Day, Stacie Orrico and CeCe Winans lead the nominees for the Gospel Music Association's 35th annual Dove Awards.

Chapman earned seven nods, including male vocalist and song of the year for "All About Love." Switchfoot received six nominations, among them group of the year and rock/contemporary album for the Sparrow/Columbia release "The Beautiful Letdown." Third Day's acclaimed Essential album "Offerings II: All I Have to Give," earned six nominations for the band.

Winans and Orrico each received five nominations. Orrico's nominations include nods for pop/contemporary song for "(There's Gotta Be) More to Life" as well as female vocalist and artist of the year. Winans' nominations include recognition in the female vocalist category and praise and worship album for "Throne Room."

The Dove Awards will be held April 28 at Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment Center. Awards are presented in 44 categories and voted on by the 4,500 members of the Gospel Music Association.
