The series will air in November and trace the evolution of U.S. music from 1955 to 1963, as played out in the lives of two teenage boys from rural America.
Among other artists slated to contribute to the series' soundtrack are K-Ci & JoJo, Terence Trent D'Arby, and blink-182.
Allan's third CD, "Smoke Rings In the Dark," (Decca/MCA Nashville) will be released in January. His last set, 1998's "It Would Be You," peaked at No. 132 on The Billboard 200.
