Katy Perry completes the quickest ascent to the top of Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart in more than five years, as "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, zooms 5-1 in its sixth week on the survey.

(All charts on Billboard.com are refreshed each Thursday).

"California Gurls" logs the fastest flight to the list's top spot since Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" likewise reached No. 1 in six weeks on the May 21, 2005, chart.

Perry's hit crowns Pop Songs thanks in part to its claiming the format's Greatest Gainer award for the fourth time in its six-week chart life, improving by 1,389 plays for a total of 10,489 detections among all 132 stations monitored for the chart, according to Nielsen BDS. The song's airplay translates to an average of 80 plays per station on the Pop Songs panel.

With its 5-1 blast, "California Gurls" posts the greatest jump to No. 1 on Pop Songs since Mariah Carey's "Shake It Off" also soared 5-1 on the Sept. 24, 2005, tally.

"California Gurls" is Perry's third No. 1 on Pop Songs. "Hot N Cold" led for three weeks in 2008 and "Waking Up in Vegas" ruled for two frames last August.

Snoop Dogg enjoys his second trip to the chart's summit. He previously led for two weeks, also as a featured act, on the Pussycat Dolls' "Buttons" in September 2006.

"California Gurls" has spent the last two weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. The lead single from Perry's album "Teenage Dream," due Aug. 24, has sold 1,471,000 downloads through the week ending June 13, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
