An album title like "Wrecking Ball" certainly implies a little muscle, and Bruce Springsteen isn't pulling any punches on his first single from the set.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will launch the first U.S. leg of the 2012 "Wrecking Ball" World Tour on March 18 in Atlanta, the singer announced today. Springsteen's 17th studio album, "Wrecking Ball," will be released on Columbia Records on March 6.
The Recording Academy uses the two weeks prior to the Grammy Awards to announce performers and presenters and executive producer Ken Ehrlich says Thursday should yield a "major interesting" announcement. Ehrlich tells Billboard that this year's telecast -- 8 p.m. Feb. 12 on CBS -- will feature 17 or 18 production pieces with about 22 songs being performed. "Arguably it's one of the biggest shows" in the history of the Grammys, he says.

The Academy announced earlier this week that Adele will make her first performance after undergoing vocal-cord surgery on the show. Other previously announced Grammy performers are: Katy Perry, Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, Glen Campbell, The Band Perry, Blake Shelton, Coldplay, Rihanna, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Paul McCartney, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.
Jack Black, Fergie, Amir "?uestlove" Thompson of the Roots and Ringo Starr will appear as presenters.
The show takes place live on Sunday, Feb. 12 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on CBS from 8-11:30 p.m. (EST/PST).
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will also play a concert at the Apollo Theater in Harlem exclusively for subscribers that will air on SiriusXM's E Street Radio channel on March 9. The show will be three days after the release of "Wrecking Ball," Springsteen's 17th studio album. SiriusXM listeners can score tickets to the Apollo show through various sweepstakes and giveaways.
