Britney Spears' Choreographer Responds to 'Haters'

Britney Spears

Last night at the MTV Video Music Awards, Brian Friedman, who has choreographed many of Britney Spears' music videos, including "Hold It Against Me" and this year's "Till the World Ends," responded to critics of Spears' dancing of late.

"You know, nitpicking or not, she's on the top of the world," Friedman said. "She's being honored (by the VMAs). She's always on the top of the charts. So, as many haters, there are lovers."

Spears' has been criticized in the recent past for her sometimes tentative dancing on stage -- both in TV appearances and on tour. Her stints on ABC's "Good Morning America" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in March set social networks ablaze with commenters knocking her moves. However, critics were a little less harsh on the diva once her Femme Fatale tour launched in June.

Friedman was nominated for the best choreography award last night at the VMAs for his work on "Till the World Ends," but lost to Frank Gatson, Sheryl Murakami and Jeffrey Page -- the team behind Beyonce's "Run the World (Girls)." The video for "Till" did win a Moonman though, for best pop video, which Spears accepted on stage.
