Detroit soulman Robert Bradley will release his first full-length live album, "What About That: New Year's in Bloomington" April 11 on Kufala Records. The two-disc set finds the artist and his band, the Blackwater Surprise, reveling in extended, gospel-fied versions of tracks like "Comin' Down," "California" and "Once Upon a Time."

Produced by Bradley and writer Wes Orshoski, "What About That" was recorded on New Year's Eve at the Bloomington, Ind., club the Bluebird, one of the band's favorite tour stops. Disc one features Bradley and company's pre-midnight set, highlighted by covers of Joe South's "Games People Play" and Elmore James' "Something Inside Me," which Bradley recorded for the HBO film "Lackawanna Blues," in which he also stars.

Disc two sports an epic take on "Once Upon a Time," a version of "Still Lovin' You" with Bradley solo on organ and four soundcheck recordings, including the new Bradley original "What About the Man (Who Died on the Cross)," an a cappella version of the traditional "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" and "New Orleans," an ode to the Crescent City that Bradley wrote 10 years before Hurricane Katrina.

"What About That" is Bradley's first release since 2003's "Still Lovin' You." The artist is currently seeking a new label deal, after releasing two albums each for RCA and Vanguard.
