As first reported here last month, David Bowie will release his next studio album, "Reality," Sept. 16 via ISO/Columbia. Like its 2002 predecessor, "Heathen," the new set was co-produced by Bowie and longtime collaborator Tony Visconti. It features Bowie's touring band, including guitarists Earl Slick and Gerry Leonard and drummer Sterling Campbell.

"Reality" boasts nine new Bowie originals alongside covers of the Modern Lovers' "Pablo Picasso" and George Harrison and Ronnie Spector's 1973 co-write, "Try Some, Buy Some." Other songs include "Fall Dog Bombs the Moon," "Looking for Water," "Bring Me the Disco King" and the title cut.

"Reality" will also be released in a separate special edition package on Sept. 16, but details are not yet available on how it will differ from the standard edition. Also being kept under wraps is the nature of production team the Matrix's contribution to the set.

Bowie's A Reality tour begins Oct. 7 in Copenhagen and will visit North America before the end of the year. A select number of VIP packages are available for the European shows, including seats within the first 10 rows and a special double-disc CD of live material and remixes.

"I am so pleased with the way the sessions for the new album have been going, and I know you're going to love this one too," Bowie wrote on his official Web site. "Can't wait to play this stuff live and see what the band can do with it."
