Bowie, Davies, Marley Set For Tibet House Benefit

David Bowie, Laurie Anderson, Ziggy Marley, and the Kinks' Ray Davies are among the performers confirmed for the 15th annual Tibet House Benefit Concert at New York's Carnegie Hall, Billboard.com has learned. The event will be held Feb. 28 and will once again be steered by composer Philip Glass, who is also the Tibet House's Vice President.

Singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright, Afro-pop specialist Angelique Kidjo, and the Drepung Gomang Monks are also confirmed for the fundraiser, with additional artists expected to be added as the event approaches. Honorary Chairs for the 2003 Tibet House Benefit are Uma Thurman, Ehtan Hawke, and Alex von Furstenberg.

Tibet House is dedicated to the proposition that the wisdom and arts of all human civilizations vitally enrich the emerging global culture and its many cultural and educational programs. The organization's primary goal is to preserve and restore Tibet's unique cultural and spiritual heritage.

Bowie and Davies also performed at last year's event alongside Beastie Boy Adam Yauch, the Kronos Quartet, Bebel Gilberto, and Patti Smith, among others. Ticket prices range from $25 to $108 and are available through Carnegie Charge at 212-247-7800 or at the Carnegie Hall Box Office at 154 W. 57th Street.
