The charges against the Bad Boy Entertainment artist stem from a May 21 arrest for weapons possession. Ross was arrested when he stopped his car in Manhattan to sign an autograph, and nearby police officers saw him pass a pistol to a passenger in the car, Kwame Thomas.
Following his arrest, Ross was released on $10,000 bond. When he skipped a May 26 court date, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. His next court date is set for Aug. 29.
At the time of his original arrest, Ross was out on parole from a prior conviction. His most recent release, "Life Story," debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and at No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in March.
