"it still isn't at a point where you're able to replace royalties," drummer Patrick Carey said.

T he Black Keys make its debut on Billboard's Social 50 chart at No. 46 thanks to the online activity catalyzed by the release of their latest album "El Camino" on Tuesday, Dec. 6. During the tracking week, the group added 36,000 fans week-to-week and received a burst of 81,000 YouTube profile views. That same day, they also appeared on the Comedy Central show Colbert Report, where they played the songs "Gold on the Ceiling" and "The Lonely Boy." The following night, on Dec. 7, they also performed on CBS's the Late Show with David Letterman.

The chart's rankings are determined by activity monitored on YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and iLike, using a formula that blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays.

A substantial amount of press, however, surrounded the Black Keys' decision to not make "El Camino" available to be played on Spotify, Pandora, and all other streaming music services. Ultimately, the group said in an interview with VH1 that they don't believe the online market has matured to where it can supplant traditional sales, which drummer Patrick Carney said they depend on in order to maintain a sustainable and profitable career.

The video for their latest single "Lonely Boy" debuted on Oct. 25 and has since pulled in 4 millio

Since being uploaded on Dec. 1, the first video has earned 1.1 million YouTube views and the latter one, which went up on Dec. 8, has gained 755,000 views. But that's not all the singer has been up to. She also performed the song "Higher" at the American Music Awards of 2011 alongside with Taio Cruz on Nov. 20.

She then uploaded behind-the-scenes footage of the event on Dec. 7; it has gained 124,000 views.

Rapper Wiz Khalifa jumps up the tally 31-21, thanks to the buzz surrounding the release of his collaborative soundtrack, with Snoop Dogg (29-27), called "Mac & Devin Go to High School" on Dec. 13. The audio for the latest single "Smokin" featuring Juicy J debuted on Dec. 5 and has since brought in more than 644,000 YouTube views.

Days later, on Dec. 7, Wiz and Snoop performed the single "Young, Wild, and Free" on NBC's talk-show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The video for that single, which premiered on Nov. 28, has earned 4.7 million views.
