The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have set a July 24 release date for the EP "Is Is," which features material penned in 2004 between tours in support of their debut album, "Fever To Tell." The five-track Dress Up/Fiction release is led by "Down Boy," which was previously released in Japan and Australia on a rare split 7-inch vinyl single with Liars.
The EP will also feature a concert film taped last month during two intimate shows at Brooklyn's Glasslands Gallery.

A Sly and the Family Stone mashup performed by Common, Macy Gray, Rocco DeLuca and the Dap Kings will highlight the 15th annual ESPY Awards, which will air July 15 on ESPN. The event will be hosted by NBA star LeBron James and comedian Jimmy Kimmel. Fan voting for the awards starts the week of June 25.
Australia's two biggest bands, Powderfinger and Silverchair have teamed up for a national concert tour. The "Across The Great Divide" tour begins at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Aug. 29 and winds up 21 shows later on Oct. 23, taking in all capital cities and many regional centers. Powderfinger will headline.
The project was mooted by the management of the two acts -- Paul Piticco of Brisbane-based Secret Service and Sydney-based John Watson Management -- and will see both bands visiting many regional areas for the first time.
In cities that don't have sufficiently large indoor venues, the bands will erect a large, custom-designed 12,000 capacity tent in which to stage the shows. Tickets are priced at $89.90 for regional areas and $99.90 for metropolitan fans.
