Naughty By Nature frontman Treach is at work on his solo debut, "Ogogly." According to a spokesperson, the artist is mulling major label offers but may release the set on Naughty By Nature's Nature Records imprint. Guests include Naughty By Nature principal Vinnie, the Rotten Rascals, and Chaingang Platoon. Former Naughty By Nature member KayGee may also contribute a track.

Treach has recently appeared in the films "Empire" and "Love and a Bullet," as well as the TV series "Third Watch" and "Soul Food."

Naughty By Nature's most recent album, "iicons," was released in April 2002 by TVT. It debuted at No. 5 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 15 on The Billboard 200.

Country artist Deana Carter will perform today (May 15) for U.S. troops and their families at Hawaii's Hickam Air Force Base. The USO/Armed Forces Entertainment event will also find Carter meeting with servicemen and women and signing autographs.

Carter is on a break from her opening act duties on Kenny Chesney's Margaritas 'n' Senoritas Tour, which kicked off in January. The run, which also features Keith Urban, will get underway again May 29 in Columbia, Md.

In the midst of the tour, Carter will play a New York club show July 15 at the city's intimate Joe's Pub. Following the Chesney tour, which ends July 29 in Paso Robles, Calif., she has a handful of festival performances on tap, including an Aug. 2 performance at the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alberta.

Los Angeles-based Latin roots act Quetzal will celebrate its 10th anniversary with "Worksongs," a new studio album due July 8 via Vanguard. Produced by Los Lobos saxophonist Steve Berlin, the 11-track set is the follow-up to 2002's "Sing the Real."

Over the next few months, Quetzal will be found on the road opening for such acts as Ziggy Marley, Taj Mahal, Little Feat, and Los Lobos. For more info, visit the band's official Web site.
