Imogen Heap has laid out a brief U.S. tour that will open Jan. 10 in New York. The run will feature Rasputina cellist Zoe Keating supporting and will play 11 shows before closing Jan. 29 finale in Seattle. One day before the tour's kick off, the former Frou Frou vocalist will appear on CBS' "The Late Show With David Letterman." Upon its conclusion, she'll return to London for a Feb. 7 show.
Heap's will be out behind her second solo album, "Speak for Yourself" (Megaphonic/RCA Victor), which debuted in November at No. 2 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart.
"A lot of people have trouble describing [the album], which I think is a good thing," she recently told Billboard.com. "I love strings and harps and other orchestral kinds of instruments. As soon as I started using these elements, it was just like, 'That's it. That's my sound base.' As far as the beats go, I like really rigid electronic sounds. It's very dense, not complicated, but it has many layers."
