California rock act Thrice will release its forth album, "Vheissu," in September via Island Def Jam. The set was recorded at Bearsville Studios in upstate New York with producer Steve Osborne (U2, Doves). "I feel like we really accomplished our goal of getting a recording that has feel and translates a good energy throughout," guitarist Teppei Teranishi writes on the band's official Web site."Vheissu" is the follow-up to 2003's "The Artist in the Ambulance," which debuted at No. 16 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 362,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The group will be out on the road this summer with the Vans Warped Tour, and is making plans for a fall outing with Underoath, the Bled and Veda.

Bono, LeAnn Rimes, Michael McDonald and Kenny Rogers have lent their talents to a new song from veteran vocalist Pat Boone, "Thank You Billy Graham." The track is being released to U.S. radio outlets in conjunction with Graham's appearances in Queens, N.Y., tomorrow (June 24) and Sunday. A music video can be streamed on Boone's Web site."Thank You Billy Graham" will also appear on Boone's next album, "Glory Train," due Aug. 9 via Pat's Gold. The artist has said he plans to retire from music in 2006 following the completion of another new album, which will feature James Brown and other R&B acts.

Singer/songwriter Devendra Banhart will on Sept. 13 release his fourth album, the 23-track "Cripple Crow," and first for XL Recordings in North America. The artist rose to indie rock prominence via several releases for New York-based Young God Recordings since 2002, particularly last year's "Rejoicing in the Hands."The new album blends Banhart's familiar acoustic side with a broader range of instrumentation on such tracks as "Long Haired Child" and "When They Come." Three ballads, "Santa Maria Da Feira," "Quedate Luna" and "Luna De Margarita," are sung in Spanish, which was Banhart's primary language growing up in Caracas, Venezuela.
The artist will be on tour in Europe through August and will launch a North American run in October.
