Australian rock outfit the Vines have confirmed their first live date of 2004 for Feb. 19 at London's Electric Ballroom. And while dates have not yet been announced, Billboard.com has learned that the group is eyeing a spring North American trek with fellow rising Australian rock combo Jet.As previously reported, the Vines will be touring in support of their sophomore Capitol release, "Winning Days," due March 23. First single "F*** the World" is available for streaming on the band's official Web site and for purchase from various digital download outlets.
Jet has world tour dates booked through early March in support of its Elektra debut, "Get Born." The set has sold 247,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, on the strength of the single "Are You Gonna Be My Girl," which is No. 4 in its 19th week on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart.

Napster has inked a deal with Universal Music Group for a two-week exclusive on digital distribution of Tom Petty's MCA catalog, Billboard Bulletin reports. The material has previously not been available for online distribution.Petty's MCA catalog comprises more than a dozen albums, including "Full Moon Fever," "Into the Great Wide Open" and "Damn the Torpedoes." The artist has no tour dates on his upcoming schedule but lends his voice to an episode of the animated series "King of the Hill," airing May 16 on Fox.
Digital services are increasingly seeking deals to obtain exclusive content, especially as key acts make their material available online for the first time. Rhapsody this summer scored a two-week exclusive on digital distribution of certain material by the Rolling Stones.

Progressive hard rock act Opeth will next month release its first DVD, "Lamentations - Live at Shepherd's Bush Empire 2003." Due Feb. 24 via Koch, the set captures 14 songs, including the entirety of the group's 2003 release, "Damnation." The two-hour performance can be heard in stereo, 5.1 surround sound and DTS.In addition, the DVD boasts a 65-minute documentary on the making of the "Damnation" and its predecessor, 2002's "Deliverance." The featurette boasts behind-the-scenes footage and studio outtakes, as well as interviews with each member of the band. "Damnation" debuted at No. 10 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart, while "Deliverance" opened at No. 16.
In other news, Opeth will kick off a North American tour Jan. 20 in Edmonton with DevilDriver and Moonspell opening. The run is slated to close Feb. 28 in Worcester, Mass.
