Jay-Z Re-Releasing 'Decoded' With New Material
Jay-Z will re-release his New York Times bestseller, "Decoded," on paperback with a special bonus section on Nov. 1. Hova will give the back story on three more songs: "I Know" off "American Gangster," the Biggie collab "Young Gz," and "Lost One," as voted by fans as the track most worthy of a write-up. The additional material will also contain Jay-Z's personal retrospective on the book's reception since it first dropped Nov. 16, 2010. ( XXL)

Mitch Winehouse Takes The Stage For Charity
Mitch Winehouse, father of the late Amy Winehouse, will perform tracks from his new jazz-crooner album "Rush Of Love" following a charity boxing match at London's Proud2, a cancer research benefit slated for Oct. 22. Mitch will donate all personal proceeds to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which he started Sept. 14 to benefit several of his daughter's favorite causes, in addition to those struggling with substance addiction. Flaming Lips Record Six-Hour Song For Charity
The Flaming Lips have recorded a six-hour song to raise money for the Central Oklahoma Humane Society and the University of Central Oklahoma's Academy of Contemporary Music. The band said Monday that the project has raised about $20,000 with fans donating $100 each to hear their names spoken by Sean Lennon - the son of John Lennon - in the song. The song will only be available within a toy called a "Strobo Trip," which the band describes as a "multi-sensory phenomenon" including music and lights, via the band's website. Read: An Excerpt From 50 Cent's Novel
As the release of 50 Cent's semi-autobiographical novel, "Playground," gets closer, the rap mogul shares the first three chapters with Entertainment Weekly. The book is meant to raise awareness of teen bullying, rather than glorify it. A self-confessed former bully, the rapper uses his 13-year old protagonist, Butterball, to portray "a kid who has become a bully -- how and why that happened, and whether or not he can move past it." 'The Voice' UK Welcomes Jessie J
2011 breakout star Jessie J will take her over-the-top persona to the UK version of "The Voice," set to debut on BBC One this Spring. The British "Voice" will feature a panel of four pop star "coaches" much like its American counterpart. The "Do It Like A Dude" singer is the first to be announced. (BBC)
