Billboard Bits: Springsteen, Cocteau Twins, Taproot

BruceThe video for "Waitin' on a Sunny Day," the third single from Bruce Springsteen's Columbia album "The Rising," sees its premiere today (Feb. 14) online via AOL Music's First View channel. The concert clip features footage from the Boss' upcoming television special, set to air Feb. 28 on CBS. AOL subscribers can exclusively view the video today; beginning tomorrow at 12:01 AM ET, the clip can be viewed by anyone at aolmusic.com.

Released in July, "The Rising" has sold 1.8 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. Springsteen is among eight artists tied with a leading five Grammy nominations, including one for album of the year. He and the E Street Band will be among the performers at the Feb. 23 ceremony in New York.

CocteauThe first four Cocteau Twins albums will be reissued June 3 in the U.S. via 4AD. Remastered by guitarist Robin Guthrie, the new editions of 1982's "Garlands," 1983's "Head Over Heels," "1985's "Treasure," and 1986's "Victorialand" were released Monday in throughout Europe.

The ethereal Scottish group -- rounded out by vocalist Elizabeth Fraser and bassist Simon Raymonde -- released nine albums, splitting after 1996's "Milk & Kisses " In 2000, 4AD collected tracks from the band's tenure there for the "Stars and Topsoil" compilation.

TaprootSystem Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian will direct the video for "Mine," the next single from modern rock outfit Taproot's latest Velvet Hammer/Atlantic album, "Welcome." The clip will be filmed next week in Los Angeles and is intended to serve as a "prequel" to a prior video for the Taproot track "Poem."

"Welcome" debuted in November at No. 17 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 298,000 units in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. Beginning March 6 in Green Bay, Wisc., the group will join Disturbed, Chevelle, and Unloco on the Music As Weapons tour, which runs through April 5 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Odadjian previously directed videos for the System Of A Down songs "Toxicity" and "Aerials."
