Smashing Pumpkins celebrated the release of their fifth studio album "MACHINA / the machines of God" (Virgin) yesterday (Feb. 29) with a performance at an HMV Records store in downtown Manhattan. The short set included vintage tracks such "Crush" and "Today," alongside new album cuts such as "I Of The Mourning" and "Stand Inside Your Love," which is No. 12 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart this week. The group's tour of record stores continues on tonight to Philadelphia.
