Rihanna Reunites with Eminem on 'Love The Way You Lie (Part II)'


Eminem and Rihanna will follow their Hot 100-topping single "Love The Way You Lie" with a sequel set to appear on Rihanna's upcoming album "Loud." The singer admitted that she was "completely against" the idea of recording "Part II," but fell in love with a stripped-down version of the song that was eventually expanded into a full sequel. Rihanna adds that Eminem's verse on the track is about trading punches with a girl and is  "crazy." ( MTV)

 

Lady Gaga Becomes College Course Subject


The University of South Carolina will offer a course titled "Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame" beginning next semester. Professor Mathieu Deflem plans to "unravel some of the sociologically relevant dimensions of the fame Lady Gaga," according to the course description. Deflem has attended 28 Gaga concert around the world and has launched his own fan site, gagafrontrow.net. (The New York Times)

 

Taylor Swift Questioned about Jake Gyllenhaal

 

Taylor Swift was asked about her relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhaal on an episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" set to air Monday. After Swift told DeGeneres that she is "optimistic about love," the host responded, "Well, why wouldn't anyone be? Especially if your boyfriend is Jake Gyllenhaal, because he is very handsome." The country star apparently just admits to being photographed with the actor earlier this week. ( People)

 

Celine Dion Originally Expecting Triplets


After giving birth to twins Nelson and Eddy last weekend, Celine Dion has revealed that she and husband Rene Angelil was originally expecting triplets but lost one of the babies. In an interview with a French news station, the singer said that one of the three children's hearts stopped beating days after she was given the news about the triplets. "He chose to let go to give space to his brothers to grow," she said. ( E!)

 

Motorhead Reveal 'World Is Yours' Details


Motorhead has announced the Dec. 13 release and track list of 20th album "The World Is Yours," which will be issued on the rock group's new Motorhead Music label. The 10-track LP will coincide with the band's European tour celebrating their 35th anniversary. ( Consequence of Sound)

 

John Lennon Coin Issued in UK


John Lennon has been honored with a commemorative coin that was issued by the United Kingdom's Royal Mint on Friday. The coin, which has a face value of 5 pounds ($8), joins other collector coins with likenesses of William Shakespeare, Winston Churchill and Charles Darwin. Lennon beat author Jane Austen in a public vote to land on the coin.

 

Death Cab For Cutie Aiming for Spring 2011 Album Release

 

Alt-rock stalwarts Death Cab For Cutie are wrapping their seventh studio album and are hoping to issue the "Narrow Stairs" follow-up in spring 2011. Frontman Ben Gibbard says that the effort is "not a guitar-based record. We've been into vintage keyboards and playing with that palette." One track, "Codes and Keys," features the band's first use of a string section in a dozen years. ( Spin)
