Rihanna Discusses Her 'Battleship' Film Role
The movie adaptation of the classic, yet plotless, game Battleship may be eliciting a few eye-rolls around the Internet, but pop-star-turned-"Battleship"-actress Rihanna is taking her role quite seriously. In an interview with UGO, Rihanna spoke of her intense training sessions with active military personnel, the difference between performing onstage and acting on film and why her character doesn't have any love scenes. "She doesn't like boys. She doesn't like girls either. She's just about her weapons and her work," she said. (UGO)

Feist Returns With First 'Metals' Single: Listen
"1234" songstress Feist premiered her first single off upcoming album "Metals" at radio today. Titled "How Come You Never Go There," the moody, midtempo track is rife with gorgeously layered vocal harmonies and lyrical tales of romantic frustration. "Metals," Feist's first album in four years, drops Oct. 4 on Cherrytree/Interscope. Listen below.

Kanye West, Jay-Z Open 'Watch the Throne' NYC Pop-Up Store
Retailers finally unveiled the physical version of "Watch The Throne," the collaborative album between Jay-Z and Kanye West, on Friday (Aug. 12), but the rappers did them one better: they constructed a pop-up store on Mulberry Street in New York City that held the tricked-out Maybach that appears in the duo's music video for "Otis." The outside of the store, which will be open through Sunday, resembled "Throne's" golden, Riccardo Tisci-designed album artwork, while the inside was filled with fans milling around and watching the music video for "Otis," which was projected onto the back wall of the shop. The band will rock their '90s alt-rock anthems and debut new songs from upcoming album "Oceania," the Pumpkins' first full album since 2007's "Zeitgeist." The group's full tour dates are below. Demi Lovato Announces 'Unbroken' Album Title
Former Disney diva Demi Lovato took to Twitter and Facebook yesterday (Aug. 11) to announce the title of her upcoming album, "Unbroken," set to debut Sept. 20. The singer started a hashtag on Twitter, #Unbroken920, which her almost 4 million Twitter followers have begun using to talk about the album. The singer's first single, the emotional "Skyscraper," dropped last month, reaching the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. (@ddlovato)

Jill Scott, Erykah Badu To Perform At The United Negro College Fund's 'An Evening Of Stars'
Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Ledisi, Patti LaBelle, Miguel and Anthony Hamilton are among the performers who will grace the stage at the United Negro College Fund's (UNCF) 33rd annual "An Evening of Stars." Being taped before a live audience on Aug. 14 at the Pasadena Civic Center (Los Angeles), the event will premiere on BET on Sept. 25 (10 p.m. ET/PT). In a departure from previous years, no Award of Excellence -- whose past honorees include Chaka Khan, Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder -- will be presented. Instead the education advocacy special will integrate music performances with UNCF success stories.
