Billboard Bits: Rage Against the Machine, Thom Yorke, Lady Gaga and More

Billboard Bits serves up the best bite-sized nuggets of music news and gossip every afternoon.

Rage Against the Machine has announced the details of its free July 7 Finsbury Park concert in London, according to NME. The show comes after the band promised to play a free UK show if their song "Killing In the Name" made the Christmas Number One slot ahead of Simon Cowell's X Factor winner.

Lady Gaga wore more than just a pearl necklace at the amfAR benefit gala on Wednesday night. The singer was dressed in an all-pearl body suit, in honor of the blizzard that raged outside the Fashion Week opening party.

Thom Yorke is set to play a solo show in Cambridge later this month. According to Pitchfork, the show will serve as a benefit for the Green Party, and Yorke is playing it because he's supporting environmentalist friend Tony Juniper in his campaign for a seat in the British Parliament.

An exhibition of Bob Dylan's first canvas paitings opens at a London art gallery this week. The paintings, based on sketches he made while touring from 1989-1992, are for sale, with prices starting at $148,000.

Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland says the band is changing up its sound for its comeback album, and is drawing inspiration from a certain robotic French dance duo. "It's not like we all of a sudden grew up and started making smarter music," he said in a recent interview. "It's definitely a fun party kinda vibe, it's a little like the old stuff but with a Daft Punk vibe thrown in."
