Phish will warm up for its summer tour with an April 15-17 stand at Las Vegas' Thomas and Mack Arena. A limited amount of tickets will be available through the band's online ticketing system from Friday (Feb. 13) through Feb. 18. General public on-sales begin March 6.As reported last week, Phish has just returned to its Vermont-based studio the Barn to begin work on its 10th studio album. The as-yet-untitled set will be produced by Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, Pearl Jam, Suzanne Vega) and is due in mid-June via Elektra.
Guitarist Trey Anastasio will on April 6 release "Seis de Mayo," an Elektra album of seven instrumentals written and recorded over the past few years.

Pete Townshend has signed on to perform at a tribute concert to late Small Faces/Faces member Ronnie Lane on April 8 at London's Royal Albert Hall. No additional acts have yet been announced, although Townshend's official Web site reports, "It is expected that Pete will perform one or two songs at the concert, which will feature a host of stars paying tribute to Ronnie."Tickets go on sale Wednesday (Feb. 11) via the Royal Albert Hall box office. Proceeds will benefit the family of Lane, who died in 1997 after a long battle with muscular sclerosis.
Townshend and Lane collaborated on the 1977 Polydor album "Rough Mix," which featured "Heart to Hang Onto" and "Till the Rivers All Run Dry," both of which have remained part of Townshend's solo repertoire.

Steve Winwood will receive a lifetime achievement award at the 2004 Jammys, to be held March 16 at New York's Roseland Ballroom. "It is an honor to be chosen to receive a Jammy Award," the artist says in a statement. "There are so few opportunities to publicly recognize improvisational music. This is a great community of musicians and fans and I look forward to being there."Winwood and his band will also perform at the Jammys, for which String Cheese Incident and Gov't Mule are tied with a leading four nominations each. Additional performers will be announced closer to the event.
As previously reported, Winwood will be inducted with his former bandmates in Traffic to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 15 at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. The group is confirmed to play live for just the second time since 1967.
