Billboard Bits: Ozzy Osbourne, Rickie Lee Jones, BMI

Phil Soussan, one-time bassist for Ozzy Osbourne, has joined a lawsuit over past royalties filed against Osbourne by original band members bassist Bob Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Soussan, whose credits include writing the single "Shot In The Dark," played on the Osbourne solo album "Ultimate Sin."

The initial lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California in January. A spokesman told the Reporter that the damages are estimated to be $20 million.

Rickie Lee Jones will release her first album for Artemis Records, a covers set tentatively titled "It's Like This," in September. Tracks include Marvin Gaye's "Trouble Man," the Beatles' "For No One," and the "West Side Story" soundtrack song "One Hand, One Heart." The varied collection will also feature a cover of Traffic's "The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys" and the Charlie Chaplin-penned classic "Smile."

After five Canadian dates June 24-30, Jones will embark on a European tour beginning July 16 in Hamburg, with dates stretching into August. The itinerary of the "An Evening With Rickie Lee Jones" tour so far includes seven German dates followed by shows in France, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden.
