Billboard Bits: Morningwood, Rascal Flatts, the Pharcyde

Morningwood will embark on its second headlining tour of the year this summer, beginning June 13 at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The band has tapped Rock Kills Kid to open for most of the Tour Off Your Clothes tour, a moniker based on the song "Take Off Your Clothes" from the group's self-titled Capitol debut. The disc has sold 56,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Morningwood will also support the Go-Go's July 14 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. The foursome recently completed a co-headlining trek with the Sounds. The group is also planning tour dates in the U.K. and Japan.

Country threesome Rascal Flatts has recorded a song for the soundtrack to the Disney-Pixar movie "CARS," due June 6 via Walt Disney Records. The film will hit theaters on June 9. The music video for "Life Is A Highway" was shot at a drive-in theater at Universal Studios in Orlando, Fla.

The Disney Channel will air the video as a promotional spot beginning June 1. The video can be viewed
here. and will be available on the official "CARS" Web site later this week.

Rascal Flatts also contributed songs to the soundtracks for 2002's "We Were Soldiers" and "The Emperor's New Groove" in 2000.

The Pharcyde's Wilcox and Booty Brown will hit the road this summer on several U.S. tour dates. The outing kicks off July 13 at Fur in Washington, followed by a July 15 show with the Roots in Baltimore. The rap duo will play a mix of clubs and theaters before wrapping up the tour Aug. 17 at Philadelphia's Electric Factory. The two members have been sustaining the group since co-founders Fatlip and Slimkid Tre moved on to solo careers.
