My Chemical Romance Responds to Glenn Beck's 'Propaganda' Accusations
Conservative pundit Glenn Beck has targeted My Chemical Romance as his latest enemy, calling out the February "Glee" performance of the band's song "Sing" on his Fox News talk show last week. "Pay attention to the lyrics," Beck said of "Sing," which was recently re-released as a charity single for Japanese earthquake and tsunami relief. "This is propaganda… It's an anthem saying 'Join us.' How can you and I possibly win against that?" Now the band's leader, Gerard Way, has responded via a blog posted on MCR's website on Saturday (Apr. 30): "Think the word Glenn Beck was looking for was 'subversion' not 'propaganda,' because I don't know what it would be considered propaganda for - truth? sentiment?"
