Billboard Bits: M.I.A., Kelly Osbourne, Passion Pit

  March 16, 2010 5:59 EDT

Billboard Bits serves up the best bite-sized nuggets of music news and gossip every afternoon.

M.I.A will play "HARD Fest" shows in L.A. on July 17th (tickets on sale March 26) and NYC on July 24th (ticket info TBD). The rapper has a new record coming out this year, and she will also be featured on Brooklyn duo Sleigh Bells' debut record Treats, out on May 11th.

Kelly Osbourne proved why most people don't write their autobiographies at the age of 24 when she reportedly revised her 2009 autobiography "Fierce" to bring the book up to speed with events that occurred in the last six months. Significant updates to her "life story" apparently include her appearance on "Dancing with the Stars" and updating the cover photo to reflect her current hair color.

Passion Pit will rerelease their debut album "Manners" on April 13 via Frenchkiss/Columbia Records. The deluxe addition will feature three new tracks: stripped down versions of "Sleepyhead" and "Moth's Wings" and a cover of the Cranberries' "Dreams" -- a tune the band has been playing live throughout their world tour. They have also added more dates to the tour, which continues into the summer.

---
MGMT played an underground, barely publicized show at New York's Mercury Lounge on Sunday, March 14, under the alias "The Smirking Worm." On a dimly lit stage the band gave the audience a taste of their upcoming album "Congratulations," out next month, and played a hit or two, including "Time to Pretend."

---
Duran Duran will reissue their albums, "Duran Duran" and "Seven and the Ragged Tiger" on March 30. In conjunction, both rereleases will also include a supplemental DVD with music videos and performances.
