Kanye West's 'Power' Video Is 'Apocalyptic,' Says Director

 

Kanye West's upcoming music video for new single "Power" will be "apocalyptic, in a very personal way," says its director, Marco Brambilla. According to the New York Times, the music video will feature West sporting a heavy chain around his neck and rapping inside a classical structure as an unseen executioner prepares to strike him. Brambilla said that the video will be posted on West's website sometime next week. (New York Times)

 

Lady Gaga-Amy Winehouse Collaboration Just a Dream

 

A representative for Amy Winehouse has dismissed a rumor that the singer is working on new material with Lady Gaga. The National Enquirer reported that GaGa reached out to Winehouse for a collaboration, but Winehouse's rep has claimed that this is "not true at all." However, MTV UK reports that Gaga has asked Susan Boyle to sing on her forthcoming album. ( DigitalSpy, MTV UK)

 

John Lennon Time Capsule to Celebrate 70th Birthday

 

In honor of the 70th anniversary of John Lennon's birth, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and Box of Vision will create three authorized time capsules containing the artist's recordings and other related items. The capsules, which will be stored at the Rock Hall of Fame and two other locations significant to Lennon, will be presented on October 9 and unveiled for future generations on the same date in 2040. Diddy Not Down with Lil Kim's Nicki Minaj Dis

 

Diddy addresses Lil Kim's beef with Nicki Minaj in the cover story to VIBE's August/September issue, which hits newsstands Aug. 16. When asked about Kim's disparaging comments, the hip-hop mogul says, "I ain't agree with it. But also I know the motivation… Yeah, Nicki's had flavored wigs on, but besides that it ain't even the same approach to the writing." Diddy also talked about his recent studio work with Dr. Dre, whose production style he described as "watching greatness." (VIBE)

 

Obama Not Listening to Justin Bieber


President Obama copped to not being a huge  fan of Justin Bieber when he stopped by ABC's "The View" on Thursday. Obama said that Jay-Z is on his iPod while the teen superstar hasn't earned the honor, although the President added that he has met Bieber and that "he's a very nice young man." Britney Spears tweeted a picture revealing the ad design for her new fragrance, Radiance. The shot shows Britney in an evening gown, while the tagline next to the jewel-encrusted bottle of perfume reads, "Choose Your Own Destiny." (@britneyspears)

 

Marc Anthony Announces U.S. Tour


Marc Anthony's 2010 U.S. tour goes on sale tomorrow as the pop star begins a string of dates in Latin America. Anthony, whose latest Spanish-language album "Iconos" is No. 2 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart this week, will hit New York's Madison Square Garden Sept. 10 and continue to arenas in Washington, D.C., Miami, New Jersey and Chicago. He is also expected to play more shows in the U.S. next year.
