Billboard Bits: Joey Santiago, Willy Mason, The Living End

As the first wave of the Pixies' reunion tour finally winds down, guitarist Joey Santiago has aligned with commercial sound agency Elias Arts. While based out of New York, he will focus on composing music for television commercials. As previously reported, Santiago also recently scored the Canadian documentary "Radiant City," which is about planned housing.

The Pixies will begin a short European tour July 14 in Trencin, Slovakia, but Santiago recently told Billboard.com the band has no further plans for the time being. "I'd only be interested if it happens in an organic manner; if all our schedules are aligned and we're all feeling it," he said of a possible new Pixies studio album. "That's the only reason to do it."

Astralwerks artist Willy Mason will open for Radiohead at two-night stands in Philadelphia (June 1-2), Boston (June 4-5) and Toronto (June 7-8) dates. Mason will begin touring with the band in Europe tomorrow (May 6) in Copenhagen through May 19.

As previously reported, the Black Keys and Deerhoof have been tapped as supporting talent for the other dates during the North American stint.

Mason re-released his debut album, "Where the Humans Eat" via Astralwerks in March and recently supported KT Tunstall and Beth Orton during their spring North American tours.

Australian rock act the Living End has signed a North American deal with Adelina Records, which is run by Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and manager Pat Magnarella. Through the deal, the Melbourne-based trio's "State Of Emergency" will be issued July 11 in the United States and July 18 in Canada.

The band will support the North American release with four weeks of shows on the Vans Warped Tour in July, followed by a headlining tour in August.

"State Of Emergency" debuted at No. 1 in February on the Australian Recording Industry Association chart.
