Billboard Bits: Janet Jackson, America, Foreigner, Tony Rich

Janet Jackson's "Doesn't Really Matter" has been tapped as the first single from the Universal soundtrack to the forthcoming film "The Nutty Professor II: The Klumps," in which she co-stars with Eddie Murphy. The dance-tinged track began generating early word-of-mouth heat thanks to radio leaks in advance of its official release this week.

The full soundtrack is due July 11 and also features tracks from Jay-Z, DMX, Sisqo, Foxy Brown, Redman, Method Man, Brian McKnight, Eve, and R. Kelly. "The Nutty Professor II: The Klumps" is due in theaters on July 28.

On July 18, Rhino will unveil "Highway: 30 Years Of America," a three-CD, 64-track box set celebrating the career of veteran pop/rock outfit America. In conjunction with the release, the group will set out on an extensive summer tour, kicking off July 1 in Oklahoma City, Okla., and running through early October.

Rhino will also release "Jukebox Heroes: The Foreigner Anthology" on Aug. 15. The double-disc set sports 45 tracks, including classic rock staples such "Hot Blooded" and "Double Vision." Foreigner will also be on the road this summer, beginning with a June 9 date in El Paso, Texas, and wrapping Sept. 16 in Eureka, Mo.

The September release of R&B/gospel brotherly duo the Wordd will be the first project under Grammy winner Tony Rich's new production deal with Myrrh Records' black music division. Under terms of the pact, Rich will develop and produce three projects a year, drawing on his talents as a producer, songwriter, and A&R manager. The Wordd, Rich's high school singing mates, comprises Detroit siblings Chris and Stan Jones.
