Comedian/actor Jon Stewart, host of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," will host the 43rd annual Grammy Awards ceremonies. Set for next Wednesday (Feb. 21) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the event will feature performances by Christina Aguilera, Destiny's Child, Faith Hill, Eminem and Elton John, Madonna, 'N Sync, Nnenna Freelon, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, Take 6, and U2.
Beatles principal George Harrison will participate in his first-ever online chats at 8 and 9 p.m. EST tonight (Feb. 15) via Yahoo! Chat and MSN Live, respectively. Harrison will be discussing the launch of his new official Web site, as well as the recent 30th anniversary reissue of his landmark solo debut, "All Things Must Pass."
"Web sites for me are still new territory," Harrison admitted in a statement. "I still don't really know what they are supposed to do. But it was fun thinking of ideas and seeing them put together on the screen. I hope people enjoy it."
Lo-fi modern rock duo Folk Implosion -- Lou Barlow (Sebadoh) and John Davis -- have slated a 14-date U.S. spring tour. Set to begin April 13 at San Digeo's Brick By Brick, the run will close May 2 with a show at Chicago's Metro.
Folk Implosion has gone largely unrecorded in recent years, having last released "One Part Lullaby" (Interscope) in September 1999. The duo is perhaps best known for the single "Natural One," which appeared on the soundtrack to Larry Clark's controversial 1995 film "Kids," and peaked at No. 4 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart.
