Black Keys Drummer Attacked by Lady Gaga Fans on Twitter
After the Black Keys' Patrick Carney offered jokes comparing Lady Gaga to Madonna on two different occasions, Gaga fans turned vitriolic, sending a barrage of nasty tweets Carney's way early this week. The drummer responded by re-tweeting the best of the worst. ( MTV)

 

Coldplay Rejects Plagiarism Charge Over New Single
The members of Coldplay have denied recent plagiarism claims regarding their latest single, "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall," which has been accused of ripping off Mystic's "Ritmo de la Noche."  In fact, Coldplay paid the songwriters of Peter Allen and Adrienne Anderson's 1976 "I Go to Rio"-- the song both Mystic and Coldplay borrow from.  Martin's inspiration was sparked after hearing Mystic's song in the 2010 film, "Biutiful." Raphael Saadiq, Wyclef Jean And More Salute Apollo Inductee Stevie Wonder
Raphael Saadiq, Yolanda Adams, Wyclef Jean and Melanie Fiona are among the artists who will perform when Stevie Wonder is inducted into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame. The June 13 ceremony at Harlem, N.Y.'s famed Apollo Theater will be hosted by comedian Sinbad and also feature surprise guests. The event marks the theater's sixth annual Spring Gala Benefit Concert, supporting the ongoing preservation of the venue's legacy, initiatives for emerging artists and community and educational programs. Wonder joins such previous Apollo Legends Hall of Fame inductees as Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones and Ella Fitzgerald.

 

Limp Bizkit Set June 28 Release, Tracklist for 'Gold Cobra'
Now I know ya'll be loving this, right here: Nu-metal rockers Limp Bizkit are back with a new record, "Gold Cobra," that will be released on June 28. The band will be in full force as the album features the band's original line-up of Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto, and DJ Lethal, while Durst produced the record. "We've come full circle to absolutely own who we are as a band, an undisputed five piece rap rock powerhouse who crushes every stage we play," Durst said in a release.

 

James Franco Announces Debut Album
Next on James Franco's list to tackle? Releasing a music album later this summer. The Oscar-nominated actor, one-half of Kalup and Franco with video performance artist Kalup Linzy, is teaming with DJ /rupture to release a new EP. Linzy, is a video performance artist who often performs onstage in drag. ( THR via Pitchfork)

 


Nick Lowe Returns With New Album
"The Old Magic" is the title of Nick Lowe's first new studio album in four years. Slated for release Sept. 13 on Yep Roc, the set was co-produced by Lowe, Neil Brockbank and Robert Treherne. Later this month, Lowe will play the Meltdown and Glastonbury festivals in the U.K.; fall U.S. tour dates will be announced soon. Lowe's last album was 2007's "At My Age."
