Billboard Bits: Farm Aid, Neil Young, Mel Tillis

In conjunction with Farm Aid's 15th anniversary, Redline Entertainment is readying a two-CD compilation album featuring tracks from throughout the event's history. Although the full tracklist is still being finalized, Billboard.com can reveal that the set will include Willie Nelson and Beck dueting on the Jimmie Rodgers' chestnut "Peach Picking Time Down In Georgia."

Tracks from Dave Matthews Band, Johnny Cash, Sheryl Crow, Farm Aid co-founders Neil Young and John Mellencamp, and Bonnie Raitt will also be featured on the album.

All proceeds from the set, which will hit stores on Sept. 12, will be donated to Farm Aid.

An acoustic guitar signed Neil Young is being auctioned for charity through Canadian Web site Chapters Online. Bids on the Martin DXM guitar, which started at $1,000 Canadian (approx. $671 U.S.), will be accepted until Aug. 18 at 9 a.m. ET.

Proceeds will benefit the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund, an organization that funds music therapy programs throughout Canada. Chapters donated more than $3,000 Canadian (approx. $2015 U.S.) from a similar auction in the spring to the Young-founded Bridge School Foundation.

Young recently kicked off a North American tour in support of his latest solo Reprise release, "Silver & Gold." The run, which also features the Pretenders, plays Hershey, Pa., tomorrow (Aug. 11), and will close Sept. 20 at Red Rocks outside Denver.

Country great Mel Tillis makes an appearance on several tracks on legendary polka artist Jimmy Sturr's forthcoming album, "Touched By A Polka," due Aug. 15 from Rounder Records.

Among the five tracks Tillis lends a hand on are two Bob Wills covers, "San Antonio Rose" and "Time Changes Everything," and a cover of the honky-tonk classic "If You've Got The Money, I've Got The Time."

"Touched By A Polka" is Sturr's 102nd album release, and also includes an appearance by veteran Irish performer Dermot O'Brien, who sings "St. Patty's Polka Medley" on the set.
