Billboard Bits: Dr. Dre, VFC, Road Rage Tour

Dr. DreRapper/actor Dr. Dre has joined the growing legion of celebrities donating money to aid the relief efforts following last week's deadly terrorist attacks on the U.S. Dre donated $1 million to the Hip-Hop Has Heart Foundation, established by Emmis Communications' New York radio outlet Hot 97 (WQHT). Donations to the Hip-Hop Has Heart Foundation are being accepted via mail at P.O. Box 679 Village Station, NY 10014.

Meanwhile, Dre can be seen alongside longtime colleague Snoop Dogg in the upcoming police drama "Training Day," starring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke. The film opens Oct. 5 in U.S. theaters.

AlanisThe Voters for Choice benefit concert set for Sept. 25 at Washington, D.C.'s Constitution Hall has been postponed. No new date has yet been set for the event, which was to feature performances from Alanis Morissette, Blues Traveler's John Popper and Chad Kinchla, Joe Henry, and Michael Franti and Spearhead. Proceeds were to benefit Voters for Choice's many initiatives in the area of reproductive rights.

Refunds are available at point of purchase; ticketholders who purchased by credit card will be automatically refunded.

Roadrunner hard rock acts Fear Factory and Machine Head tonight (Sept. 19) kick off their co-headlining stint on the Roadrunner Road Rage Tour in Fargo, N.D. Labelmates Ill Nino and Chimaira are also on the bill.

Fear Factory is touring in support of its latest album, "Digimortal," while Machine Head is out in advance of its new album, "Supercharger," which is due out Oct. 2, led by the single "Crashing Around You."
