Billboard Bits: Cream, Green Day, The Clientele

EricAlthough the track list has not yet been revealed, a DVD chronicling Cream's May reunion run at London's Royal Albert Hall will be released Oct. 4 via Rhino. The shows found Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker performing together for the first time in nearly 37 years, save for a one-off set at Cream's 1993 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The group is said to be mulling a similar run at New York's Madison Square Garden in late October, but has yet to confirm specifics. The London shows grossed more than $3.6 million, according to Billboard Boxscore.

As previously reported, Clapton will on Aug. 30 release his next Duck/Reprise album, "Back Home."

GreenGreen Day has postponed concerts last night (Aug. 14) in Dayton, Ohio, and tonight in Nashville. According to a statement from Reprise, the band's label, the move was required "due to the illness of a band member." No further details were offered, nor is there any mention of the cancellations on the band's
official Web site.

The statement advises fans to hold onto their tickets for use at a rescheduled show. The tour is next scheduled to stop Wednesday in Oklahoma City and will run through an Oct. 8-9 stand in Los Angeles.

ClienteleU.K. rock trio the Clientele will release its third studio album, "Strange Geometry," Oct. 11 via Merge. First single "Since K Got Over Me" will see commercial release Aug. 22 in the United Kingdom. The 12-track set features string arrangements by French singer/songwriter Louis Philippe.

Highlights include shimmering acoustic-led cuts like "K" and "Geometry of Lawns," as well as the unusual "Losing Haringey," which features spoken narration atop a familiar Clientele musical bed.

The group will begin a European tour Aug. 31 in London and will visit North America for a six-week headlining tour beginning in mid-October.
