Billboard Bits: Bumbershoot, LeAnn Rimes, The Orb

Blondie, Spoon, New Pornographers, Steve Miller Band, the Thermals, the Bellrays, As I Lay Dying and Copeland are among the final additions to the lineup for the 2006 Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival. As previously reported, the event will be held Sept. 2-4 at the Seattle Center.

The festival will also feature performances by Kanye West, A Tribe Called Quest, AFI, Hawthorne Heights, Yellowcard, Jeremy Enigk, Badly Drawn Boy, Zero 7, Lady Sovereign, Alejandro Escovedo, Jose Gonzalez and Rogue Wave.

Also newly added to the Bumbershoot schedule are appearance by the comedy troupes Tinkle and the Upright Citizens Brigade, a live version of the VH1 series "Best Week Ever Live" and a performance by comedian Zack Galifanakis.

LeAnn Rimes has cancelled three shows this week while she recovers from surgery to treat an infection and torn tissue in her leg. The affected dates are Thursday (July 13) in Hampton Beach, N.H., and Friday and Saturday in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The tour is expected to resume July 19 in Twin Lakes, Wis.

Rimes has been out in support of her 2005 Curb album, "This Woman," which debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart.

Universal Music will this week begin the digital rollout of rare recordings unearthed from the BBC vaults. The strategy kicks off with an album by veteran dance act the Orb, "The Orb -- The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld," which was originally released in April 1991.

The album will be re-released as a three-CD "Deluxe Edition." The digital version of the "Deluxe Edition," however, will also feature an additional fourth download-only "digital disc," highlighted by two exclusive tracks recorded on the BBC's iconic "John Peel Sessions." The digital version of the album will be exclusively available via Apple's iTunes Music Store.
