Britney Spears may have lost Enrique Iglesias as a touring partner this week, but she has other options in mind. "I think Usher's really great right now," she tells MTV News. Danger Mouse/Jack White Collab Hits Net
"Two Against One," a Jack White-assisted track on Danger Mouse's spaghetti western-inspired project "Rome," has hit the Internet today. "Black," featuring Norah Jones, has also made its online debut. "Rock of Ages" Movie Casts Lead Actor
Diego Gonzalez Boneta has been cast in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of "Rock of Ages," which will also star Tom Cruise and Alec Baldwin. Boneta, who has appeared on "90210" and "Pretty Little Liars," will star in the film based on the Broadway musical that celebrates classic rock. ( NY Mag)

 

Disney Star Bridgit Mendler Signs to Hollywood Records
Hollywood Records is banking on Bridgit Mendler graduating from Disney Channel star into a recording artist. The Disney-owned label has signed Mendler with a plan to release her debut album early next year. Mendler, 18, a star of the Disney Channel series "Good Luck Charlie," makes her onscreen singing debut on the Disney Channel movie "Lemonade Mouth" that premieres April 15.

 

Bruce Springsteen Writes Open Letter Praising Newspaper
Bruce Springsteen appeared in the Asbury Park Press on Wednesday (Mar. 30) with a personally written letter to the editor praising the newspaper's recent article about local budget cuts and their effect on the impoverished. "The article is one of the few that highlights the contradictions between a policy of large tax cuts, on the one hand,and cuts in services to those in the most dire conditions, on the other," Springsteen wrote.
