Britney Spears Takes Romantic Hawaiian Getaway


Taking a break from the studio and taping "Glee," Britney Spears enjoyed a romantic vacation in Hawaii with boyfriend Jason Trawick, People reports. The singer sported a bikini while hitting the beach and enjoyed the luxury suite of an oceanfront resort during the getaway. Spears tweeted earlier this month that she is currently recording new music. (People)

 

Usher, Paramore Added to VMAs Performers


Usher and Paramore will be joining the list of performers at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, MTV announced today (Aug. 26). The R&B star and rock group have joined already announced performers Kanye West, Drake, Eminem, Justin Bieber, B.o.B. and Florence + the Machine. Justin Timberlake and fellow cast members of "Social Network" were also confirmed as presenters for the Sept. 12 ceremony. (MTV)



Ou Est Le Swimming Pool To Release Debut Album Despite Singer's Death


Ou Est Le Swimming Pool will continue with plans to release their debut album, "The Golden Year," on Oct. 3, despite the death of lead singer Charles Haddon, according to NME. The frontman died last week at Belgium's Pukkelpop festival after jumping from a telecommunications mast in an apparent suicide. The remaining members consulted with the late singer's family, who said they wish for the album to be released. (NME)

 

Sufjan Stevens Announces New Album


After releasing the 60-minute EP "All Delighted People" last week, indie-folk singer Sufjan Stevens has announced a new full-length titled "The Age of Adz," his first full-length of original material since 2005's "Illinois." The 11-song album is due Oct. 12 on Asthmatic Kitty.

 

Jay-Z Discussing New Book At New York Library


Jay-Z has announced plans to analyze his new book, "Decoded," at the New York Public Library on Nov. 15, according to RapRadar. Co-author Dream Hampton announced via his Twitter yesterday (Aug. 25) that the book is not a memoir, as previously reported. "Decoded" hits stores on Nov. 16, the day after the reading. (RapRadar)
