Billboard Bits: Blue Note/Bonnaroo, Forecastle Fest, Westerberg

Blue Note Records will sponsor a jazz tent at next month's Bonnaroo festival, dubbed Somethin' Else. Among the artists confirmed to appear there are Jacky Terrasson, Stefon Harris, Don Byron, Ravi Coltrane, Robert Glasper, the Scott Amendola Band featuring Wilco's Nels Cline, Mago featuring Billy Martin and John Medeski and the Philadelphia Experiment featuring the Roots' Ahrmir Thompson, Christian McBride, Uri Caine and Glasper.

Somethin' Else will be staged in an air-conditioned tent with table seating and bar service, in the vein of a downtown New York jazz club. In addition, DownBeat magazine will host afternoon panel discussions in the space with prominent jazz musicians.

As previously reported, Bonnaroo will be held in Manchester, Tenn., from June 14-17, and will feature the Police, Tool, Wilco, Ween, the White Stripes, Widespread Panic and dozens of other acts.

De La Soul, Girl Talk and Particle lead the lineup for the 2007 edition of the Forecastle Festival, to be held July 27-28 at the Riverfront Belvedere in Louisville, Ky. Also on the bill are Early Day Miners, Parlour, Aloha, the Impossible Shapes, Chicago Afrobeat Project, Wax Fang, the Features, De Novo Dahl and Cheer Accident.

The event will also play host to 25 artists and nearly 50 environmental organizations at a new waterfront setting in Louisville. For more information, visit

After severely injuring his left hand in a home accident last December, Paul Westerberg will return to live duty on June 16 in Minneapolis as part of an event with his wife, ex-Zuzu's Petals principal Laurie Lindeen. The show will be held June 16 at the Fitzgerald Theatre in St. Paul.

Beyond Westerberg and a Zuzu's Petals reunion, also on the bill are Steve Wynn, Polara/27 Various mainman Ed Ackerson, Lori Barbero (ex-Babes In Toyland) and John Munson (ex-Trip Shakespeare).

In addition, Lindeen has recently penned a memoir, "Petal Pusher: A Rock and Roll Cinderella Story," which chronicles her adventures in Zuzu's Petals and her relationship with Westerberg.
